My Favorite Form Of Writing - 915 Words
This year in English 101 has been quite the experience because this was my first English class at the college level. Signing up for the hybrid class I honestly didn t know what to expect. All I knew I had to take this class in order to graduate. So whether or not I wanted to, I was eventually going to have to take English 101. During this term, I was able to further develop my skills in analyzing arguments and advertisements by using SPAC (situation, purpose, audience and claims) and effectively connect two pieces together. Also, besides grammar errors, I still personally struggle with creating detail within my work. One of my favorite form of writing is argumentative writing. It has always been the one English assignment I was excited for when the unit came around during high school. Whether it was a documentary or an essay for a debate I actually forgot about my procrastination skills and jumped on the assignment the day it was talked about. Throughout my years of education, I have never heard of SPAC. I was slightly disappointed to find out about it because it is such a wonderful way to organize thoughts and I wish that I had learned about it earlier. SPAC consists of four different parts; situation, purpose, audience, and claims. Situation is about why the author chose to touch on the subject and express their feelings to their audiences (in other words, what made them do it?).
